Gateway's Standard Series NS Notebook is designed for small- and medium-sized businesses that need a good-quality mainstream machine for standard office work. An affordable laptop for those without a demand for highest-end solutions like TPM security, the Gateway® NS40 and NS50 Notebooks feature Genuine Windows® 7 Professional or Genuine Windows Vista® Business, an Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor, Intel® Centrino® 2 Technology, DDR2 or DDR3 memory, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a fingerprint reader. Our NS40 is made for professionals needing a light laptop with long battery life; our NS50 model provides a multitude of processor options plus more ports and expansion slots. Day or night, in the office or at home, our Standard Series laptop will capably handle all your mainstream needs.

Like the Gateway Office Series, our Standard Series passes 14 separate reliability tests, including shock and vibration testing and system performance and MTBF testing. Our Standard Series is also assembled with components from select manufacturers.

And it brings you other exceptional benefits, too. The 14" or 15.4" WXGA high-brightness display offers good readability, and you get plenty of computing speed from up to 4GB of DDR2 or DDR3 memory. Are your business files expanding? Then you'll appreciate that the Standard Series laptop can come with large hard disk drives, including available SSD.

Thanks to its Mobile Intel® GM45 or GS Express Chipset with the Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD, our Standard Series laptop presents itself very well. You get the gorgeous Windows Aero® experience, great 3D graphics performance, and Intel® Clear Video Technology for excellent video quality. Plus, both our NS40 and NS50 models can be outfitted with available dedicated graphics cards, and our NS50 has an HDMI™ port. The right graphics and the right video technology mean you get the performance you want for business applications and for entertainment.

Because mobility means connectivity, this series—like all Gateway portables—possesses the latest Intel® Wireless WiFi Link technology, supporting dual-band quad-mode 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Certified™ network connectivity and available Cisco® Compatible Extensions (CCX-V4). Plus, Bluetooth® 2.0+EDR or 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) means you also have a short-range method for connecting to your peripherals.
